We often aren't sure how to include someone who looks, sounds or acts "different." How can we be kinder and more respectful to people with disabilities? Come to this interactive session to learn some basic principles we can keep in mind when including people with disabilities in our communities. Brunch will be provided.

Dr. Arielle Silverman has a Ph.D in Social Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Washington School of Medicine. Arielle has conducted research related to the disability experience for more than 10 years. She is a consultant working to promote a fuller understanding of the disability experience and conducts research and training activities designed to improve public attitudes toward people with disabilities. She is also blind since birth and leads a mentoring program for blind and low-vision youth in Virginia.
