Visiting Israel

Join us, with friends old and new, as we explore the past, present, and future of Jewish life. While visiting Israel, you’ll grow closer to the greater Jewish family and build lasting bonds, all while witnessing Federation’s impact on the global Jewish community.

Israel Missions

You haven’t seen Israel if you haven’t seen it with us! When you visit Israel, we'll have experiences that will engage your heart, mind, body, and soul through exciting and active adventures. Explore Jewish history and culture up close and see first-hand how Federation is connecting the Tidewater community with Jews in Israel and countries across the world.

Birthright Israel

Young adults age 18-32 are invited to experience Israel first-hand, on a free, 10-day trip with their peers -- compliments of Birthright Israel and its funders, including the Jewish Federation. Birthright bonds young travelers to Israel's people and culture in a way that stays with them forever.

Simon Family Passport to Israel

TJF’s Simon Family Passport to Israel Fund provides grants for Israel trips, which helps give funds to enable and encourage Jewish students (age 13 – 18)* to participate in an Israel Trip experience.

*Students over 18 can apply, but they must indicate why a Birthright Israel trip will not meet their needs at this time.
