Each year, UJFT’s Women’s Campaign raises over a million dollars to support vital programs and services in Tidewater, in Israel, and in 64 other countries around the world. We take great pride in acknowledging the dedication of every woman in our community who has committed personal resources to help those in need. We also are proud to recognize those women who make a gift of $5,000 or more to the Annual Campaign.

Created in 1972 by Norma Kipnis Wilson and Toby Friedland (z”l) from the Miami Federation, the Lion of Judah is now an international symbol of commitment to the global Jewish community. This exciting program has brought together women of all ages and diverse walks of life in order to play an essential role in creating social justice, healing the sick, feeding the hungry, preserving human dignity, and building Jewish identity. Today, more than 16,000 women worldwide proudly wear the gold Lion pin to signify their commitment. Here in Tidewater, our pride grows each year. Today we stand at 105 Lion of Judah donors – a tremendous number for the size of our community!

Each year that a woman sustains or increases her gift of $5,000 or more to the Annual Federation/UJA Campaign, she is eligible to have a small diamond set into her pin. Larger commitments are recognized at different Lion of Judah levels, as signified by different precious stones.
