Part-Time or Full-Time Position Available

About the Role

Jewish News is seeking a talented and passionate Copywriter to join our team. This role can be structured as part-time or full-time, depending on the candidate’s availability and organizational needs. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller who can produce compelling, accurate, and engaging content across multiple platforms including print, email, digital, and social media.

Key Responsibilities

• Write clear, persuasive, and engaging copy, with a strong emphasis on articles and feature writing for Jewish News.
• Collaborate closely with the editorial and graphics teams to develop high-quality content.
• Proofread, edit, and fact-check materials to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Conduct research as needed to support assigned stories.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in journalism and digital communication.
• Demonstrate understanding of Jewish culture, history, issues, and traditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Experience writing across various formats (print, digital, email, social media, etc.).
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities; able to manage multiple deadlines.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Highly detail-oriented with strong creative initiative.
• Appreciation for the mission of Jewish News and the broader Federation/JCC community.
• Solid understanding of current events, particularly those relevant to American Jewry, the Jewish people, and Israel.
• Submission of writing samples or portfolio required.
