Shalom Tidewater is our special welcome to the area for new or returning community members. We’re a resource for local connections, recommendations, and a friendly face. Brought to you by the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater.

Welcome to the Neighborhood!

Our program lead Linda Ausch  personally welcomes all newcomers (or returning members) to the Tidewater community with a gift basket. Included is a wealth of information and brochures from Jewish organizations, synagogues, schools, eateries, and more, plus fun suggestions for regional arts, leisure and entertainment venues.

Linda also extends the offer to all newcomers to ask questions or request a tour of the Simon Family JCC on the Sandler Family Campus. You can contact Linda at LAusch@UJFT.org or (757)965-6105.

WARM WELCOME NEW BABY!

Shalom Baby welcomes new families and their babies to the Tidewater Jewish community. Whether celebrating your relocation with a precious newborn, or existing residents welcoming a new baby (through birth or adoption), we present a gift bag filled with goodies. This includes resources and information about everything Jewish in Tidewater!

Shalom Baby is a program of the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater and Simon Family JCC in partnership with Strelitz International Academy and PJ Library in Tidewater.

Please contact PJ Library Prgram Professional Sarah Cooper 3 - 6 weeks after your baby’s arrival to schedule a time for her to deliver a bag to your home. If you know of a family that has recently welcomed a new bundle of joy, you are invited to register a bag for them.

Contact  Sarah at Scooper@UJFT.org or 757-321-2306 for details.
